Job Responsibilities:

  • Report for work on-time without excessive absenteeism.
  • Installing new and replacement plumbing systems and providing excellent customer service to commercial plumbing customers.
  • Expected to work on a variety of projects and tasks related to the Plumbing and HVAC trade., including but not limited to:
  • Rough-in of new drain, waste and vent (DWV) and domestic piping.
  • Installation of roof drains and storm drainage piping.
  • Threading, installation and testing of building piping.
  • Line and Low Voltage Wiring, controls and programming.
  • Other job/field related tasks as required: brazing, threading pipe, soldering and welding.
  • Interpret construction drawings and cut sheets in the field.
  • Work from ladders, lifts and scaffolding.
  • Must be competent with the preparation, testing and start-up of new Plumbing & HVAC equipment.
  • Follow all established and normal safety precautions while on the job.
  • At times work with a less experienced crew member and will be expected to help train and teach their team members as the work allows.
  • Perform physical activities and occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Report to and take direction from the Field Superintendent and follow all established company policies and procedures
  • Occasionally be asked to cross train/work when necessary.
  • Install, service and repair environmental control system in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Oversee the general maintenance, repairing, including but not limited to the work or trade.
  • Pipes, fixtures and other apparatus of water, gas, or sewage systems in Commercial and Industrial buildings.
  • Utilize knowledge of refrigeration, pipefitting and structural layouts.
  • Test electrical circuits and components for continuity using electrical test equipment.
  • Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
  • Test pipe or tubing and connections for leaks.
  • Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
  • Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagram.
  • Install auxiliary components to heating and cooling equipment such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers following blueprints.
  • Fabricate, assemble and install ductwork and chassis parts. Using hand tools and welding equipment.
  • Wrap pipe in insulation securing it in place with cement or wire bands.
  • Assemble, position and mount heating or cooling equipment following blueprints

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as an experienced Plumber/HVAC Tech is preferred, but not required.
  • CT State License or Certification will be given extra consideration.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform physical activities and occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to provide problem solving solutions.

 

 

Physical Requirements:  

 

  • Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
  • Talk and hear at normal levels.
  • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the

               ability to adjust focus.

  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
