Position Summary:
The Construction Estimator III is responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate estimates for complex construction projects. This role involves reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, soliciting subcontractor/vendor pricing, and developing detailed cost summaries. The Estimator III typically leads estimating efforts for large or multiple projects and mentor’s junior estimators.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.

Perform material and quantity take-offs using digital tools and estimating software (e.g., AutoDesk Build, Building Connected, STACK).

Develop complete cost breakdowns including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

Coordinate and solicit competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.

Conduct risk assessments and apply contingencies where appropriate.

Lead estimating efforts on large, complex projects including coordination with operations, project management, and design teams.

Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide value engineering suggestions.

Present and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and clients.

Maintain and update unit cost and historical data databases.

Train and mentor Estimator I and II team members.

Ensure all estimating processes and standards are followed consistently.

Support Estimating documentation for CHRO SAP & AAP requirement.

Maintain and update Master Job list for PM Meetings

Maintain and update Estimator Analysist Work Sheet (Track, Win/Loss, Value, etc)

Drafting Subcontracts, Purchase Orders and Buy-outs
Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction.

Demonstrated ability to lead estimates on projects exceeding $10 million.

Skills:

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., AutoDesk Build, Building Connected, STACK).

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry standards.

Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple estimates concurrently.

OSHA 30-Hour

Notary Public

Professional Certificate in Construction Estimating (PCSE)

Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)

Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A)

Construction Cost Estimating and Cost Control (CCECC) certification
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.

Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer and telephone.

Semi-frequent stair climbing.

May include frequent travel to jobsites and project meetings in various locations
